Sleep, Sheets and Heat

Do you often wake up because you are overheated or experience a hot flash? One way to promote a good night's sleep is to minimize sleep disruptions and to aim for sleeping right through the night.

My most frequent sleep disrupter is getting too warm during the night. I become overheated despite the use of a ceiling fan, a cotton nightgown, and the AC set at a low temp. I wake up in the middle of the night with a hot flush - not a true hot flash, but warm enough that the covers come off, the fan is turned up and the AC is turned down.

Realizing that I needed to find other ways to keep either the bed or bedroom cooler, I did some research on bedsheets and discovered that my sheets may indeed be contributing to me waking up at night.
