Your alarm is going off, you have hit the snooze button one too many times. You struggle to roll out of bed but, however the coffee pot and caffeine rush gives you the jump start you need to start your day.
Now you are awake and making it through the day, until 3:00 and the afternoon lull rolls around. Your eyes get droopy and you are suddenly overcome with brain fog and a complete lack of motivation. Maybe you opt for another coffee or another caffeinated beverage. You make it through the day, only to repeat the cycle again.
Get Ready for Rejuvenation
Are you ready for a change? Ready to kick coffee to the curb? Well maybe not that extreme. Chances are you probably already know what to do. We have all heard go to bed earlier and at the same time, turn off electronics close to your bedtime, avoid caffeine after the morning hours, and the list goes on. Maybe you have tried these to no avail or maybe you simply have not put these tricks in to practice. Be real with yourself and reflect. Is your tiredness from lifestyle or do you have a serious condition.
The most important area to asses when it comes to sleep deprivation is the source. How do you find the root cause of your problem? Imagine waking up refreshed, feeling alert all day long. Would your life change? What about your relationships and productivity? Speaking from experience, you may not realize what being sleep deprived is doing to your mental and physical health until you know what it feels like to be rested.
Unless you completely detached yourself from the modern world and escaped to some remote island, you will experience fatigue. Going through the entire day ready to run laps around the office is probably not going to be the norm. However there are steps you can take today, or should I say tonight to make your daytime experience more manageable and enjoyable.

Did you know that these small lights can actually inhibit you from getting quality deep sleep?
Take these few easy steps to sleep more deeply tonight:
- Unplug or remove electronics that can be charged in another room
- Shut the blinds, close the curtains, and figure out a way to block any light from the windows
- Put your alarm on the other side of the room and cover it so the time is not glowing (this might help you get out of bed when the alarm goes off too)
- Observe your room with the lights out and remove any other lights or cover up the beams
